Hampton Says NO! Please read the following letter from the Hampton Board of Selectmen that was sent in recognition of our petition efforts. Also sending out a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who worked hard to make this happen! Onward!
April 28, 2016
Dear Commissioner Currey, Commissioner Schriro, Mr. Beckham, Mr. Bolton and All Concerned,
The Hampton Board of Selectmen, recognizing a petition of over 25% of registered voters in opposition of the Connecticut Gun Range proposal and their request pursuant to CGS 7-7 of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut that $100,000 be appropriated at the Annual Town Meeting on the date of May 25, 2016 to initiate legal and environmental research, concerns of the impact of our Plan of Conservation and Development, and the devaluation of homes and equine farms in the quiet corner of the The Last Green Valley and neighboring Joshua’s Trust Nature Conservancy, we, the governing body of the town, oppose the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services and the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection from its proposed siting of the State Police Firearms Training Facility in Hampton.
